Household Flood Insurance Survey
Issued : Friday 15 June, 2012
I am carrying out a survey on the problems being encountered by people in the area about getting household insurance cover for flooding.
As you are no doubt aware, a lot of money has been spent by Dublin City Council and the Office of Public Works along the Dodder improving flood defences.
I want to ensure that residents receive the benefits of this work, and do not encounter problems getting home insurance or suffer from excessive increases in the premiums they are charged.
By gathering this information, I will present the Minister for State at the OPW, Brian Hayes with the results, and work towards ensuring, that areas which have had flood defences installed are not discriminated against when you seek insurance for your home.
The survey can be accessed here:
All personal information will be treated in the strictest confidence and will be destroyed once the results have been compiled.
I look forward to your help with this issue.
