Ireland’s population is more diverse and embraces new communities from across the world. We need appropriate integration structures to assist in social cohesion.
Labour in Government has developed a National Integration Strategy and begun to implement the recommendations of the report into the Direct Provision system.
Our plan for the next five years:
- Introduce a one-off earned regularisation scheme for undocumented migrants living in Ireland for more than 5 years
- Ensure those in Direct Provision and seeking asylum are treated with dignity and respect whilst they await the outcome of their application
- Create local integration strategies and guidelines for all community groups in receipt of public funding
