Better integration structures for our increasingly diverse population

Ireland’s population is more diverse and embraces new communities from across the world. We need appropriate integration structures to assist in social cohesion.

Labour in Government has developed a National Integration Strategy and begun to implement the recommendations of the report into the Direct Provision system.

Our plan for the next five years:

  • Introduce a one-off earned regularisation scheme for undocumented migrants living in Ireland for more than 5 years
  • Ensure those in Direct Provision and seeking asylum are treated with dignity and respect whilst they await the outcome of their application
  • Create local integration strategies and guidelines for all community groups in receipt of public funding
