Update on flooding at Churchtown School Athy and Graveyard extension at Churchtown
Issued : Tuesday 19 January, 2016
Cllr Mark Wall was pleased to note that following his question to today's Athy Municipal District meeting, the area engineer confirmed that Kildare County Council will assimilate a solution to the flooding into their upcoming works programme. In a further response to Cllr Wall , the area engineer confirmed that it would be possible to incorporate such works into the proposed extension of Churchtown graveyard.
The meeting also heard following questioning from Cllr Wall that work on preparing a Part viii(Planning permission) for the extension to the graveyard was progressing and that the District Manager hoped to have the detail of this planning application before the members at the February meeting. If that was agreed by the members then , it would go out for Public consultation.

Can the Council investigate and find a solution to the flooding in vicinity of Churchtown National School, Athy?
Report: The flooding on the road opposite Churchtown school is a result of development being undertaken by the school. This work can be assimilated into the Municipal District Office drainage works for the coming year.
