Dear Visitor, welcome to my section of the Labour Party's website.
As a Councillor on Cork County Council since 2004 and currently Mayor of Macroom Town Council, I have worked hard in the belief that Labour can provide a better tomorrow for hardworking families in Cork North West.
I contested the 2011 General Election for Cork North West to provide a better vision of Ireland, one free of the doom and gloom brought on by the recession and emigration planes. One that eventually those young people Fianna Fáil have failed can return to with the knowledge they are returning to a stable economy, a society that values people over profit - a place called home.
We have been subjected to a betrayal of the people by the corrupt politics of the Fianna Fáil government of the past 13 years, cozy relations with bankers and developers, and a light-touch attitude to regulation - all of which are the cause of the hardship the ordinary people of Ireland are now undergoing.
My priorities continue to be to improve our health service, stimulate the economy through education and technological innovation, improve the road and rail systems to aid transport and travel, and to make the streets of Cork North West and the local communities safer.
On that, know that I will always be available to assist on matters of concern to you and your family.
Is mise le meas,
