Day 4 - Blogging for Labour roundup
Posted on May 02, 2007 at 07:24 PM
First up in this latest round-up of Blogging for Labour Councillor Eric Byrne has relaunched his blog as his campaign diary. He is the only candidate to advertise his blog on posters throughout his constituency. Explaining why he did that he said: "Unfortunately there's not an awful lot you can say on a poster, but you can say a lot in a blog. So we decided to put up posters advertising the blog - and here they are" And very nice they are too Eric.
Meanwhile over on Councillor Dominic Hannigan's blog, posters, pigeons and election campaign launches are the flavour of the day.
Now that the Dail has been dissolved Councillor Michael O'Brien blogs about the retirement of the longest-serving TD (46 years) in the Dail, Father of the House and Leas Cheann Comhairle, Deputy Seamus Pattison.
Senator Joanna Tuffy writes about the first train from Lucan to Heuston since 1947. She said: "In a few weeks there will be much more demand and it will be a lot harder to get a seat. There are many issues in relation to improving the Lucan rail service that need to be addressed now that we have one, including more buses from Heuston to the City Centre and the need to build the rail link from Heuston to the City Centre.
"The doubling of the rail track from 2 to 4, the building of new stations at Kishogue, Lucan and Fonthill Road, Clondalkin, and the electrification of the Dublin Kildare rail line must now get the priority that should have been given many years back."
As always we have been documenting our work on Flickr, the photosharing site as well as on our YouTube channel which you can see here. More soon.
