Day 9 - Ten-point plan for Children
Posted on May 07, 2007 at 12:03 PM
Day 9 of the Countdown to Change and we are launching our ten-point plan for children.
Despite childhood being a precious time our record of protecting children and childhood is poor. Being a child in Ireland should mean protection and security, nurturing and opportunity. Irish children should benefit from the best educational and developmental opportunities we can provide,
That is why we have developed a ten-point plan to make Ireland one of the best places in the world to be a child.
If elected to Government we will tackle these issues under a number of headings:
Children's rights
Advertising
Pre-school education
Meeting the cost to parents
Better schools
Better healthcare
Mental health and young people
Special educational needs
Art for children
Sport for more active children
