This weekend will see youth members, party members and public representatives of the Labour Party gather in the Set Theatre, Langtons Hotel, Kilkenny for the annual Tom Johnson Summer School. The Tom Johnson Summer School provides an opportunity for party members to debate and discuss ideas and alternative visions for the Labour Party.

The theme for this year is 'Because People Matter Most - Protecting the Social Agenda', and speakers for the weekends will include Cllr. Ann Phelan, Eamon Gilmore TD, Olivia O'Leary, Mark Hennessy of the Irish Times, Joan Burton TD, Suzy Byrne of Maman Poulet (award winning political blogger), Colm O'Gorman of Amnesty International, Party President Michael D. Higgins TD, and many more. Discussions will take place on topics such as Overseas Development Aid and the role of the media in politics today.

While over 120 delegates are already registered, there are still some spaces available - anyone interested can register on the website here. You can also follow the discussion on Twitter using the hashtag #tj10 over the weekend, while many of the speeches will also be uploaded to our media centre over the weekend.
