Minister Rabbitte on the forthcoming digital TV switchover

Posted on October 02, 2012 at 05:55 PM

Recent surveys have shown that 94 per cent of people are aware of the impending digital tv switchover which will take place later this month on October 24th. While this figure is encouraging there are still people are who not aware that unless they make the switch from analogue to digital tv they will lose their channels. We spoke to Minister Pat Rabbitte about what people can do to make sure they're ready which you can hear about from the video. Minsiter Rabbitte also urged people not to wait until the last minute to make the switch.

Between now and the October 24th switchover if you see 'X 24 October' in the corner of your TV screen you have two options, depending on the range of services or channels they require. Viewers can get Saorview by purchasing a set-top box or going to a pay TV provider such as Sky or UPC.

Do check on your older family members, friends and neighbours to make sure they're aware of the change coming up and if they do need help you can find out what to do from the video and from Saorview.

More information on the switch over is available from Going Digital and find out more about Saorview at the link.
