Labour Women to host bi-annual conference

The National Bi-Annual Conference of Labour Women will be held on Saturday 17th September 2016 in the Oak Room of the Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2 from 11am until 5pm. From 11am-1pm we will have a panel discussion on “A Feminist Republic” with guest speakers, followed by an address by the Party Leader, Brendan Howlin TD. We will also be awarding the Rosie Hackett Award to a woman who has made an outstanding contribution to the lives of women in Ireland. We will then break for a light lunch and the AGM will take place during the afternoon session from 2pm-5pm.

Each Constituency can send five delegates and three substitutes. Please liaise with your Women’s Officer or Constituency Secretary if you are interested in attending as a delegate. Please note that you can also attend conference as an observer if all of your constituency delegate passes have been used. We are encouraging as many women members as possible to attend the Conference so please feel free to contact us via the details below for further information. The deadline for delegate submissions is Wednesday 14th September 2016.
Each Constituency can submit three motions. Motions can be submitted by post or email via the contact details below. The deadline for motions is Friday 9th September 2016. A Preliminary Agenda will issue on Monday 12th September and the deadline for amendments is Friday 16th September.
Labour Women Executive Election Nominations
You are entitled to nominate yourself as a member of the Labour WomenExecutive. Nominations must be received by 5pm on Friday 16th September 2016 via the contact details below.
The contact details for all women members in your constituency are available through your Constituency Council Secretary. If you have any trouble accessing these please feel free to contact us. If your Constituency does not have aWomen’s Officer we are asking the Constituency Council Secretary to kindly bring the matter to the attention of the women members.
