Commuter Belt Survey

People living in the commuter belt have said on average their journeys to work have increased by 30 per cent in the last five years, that is a staggering 80 hours in a year. They were responding to a Labour Party survey on Commuter Belt Living which was launched today by the Labour Party Spokesperson on the Commuter Belt, Senator Dominic Hannigan.

Among the other findings in the survey was 30 per cent of respondents believe their quality of life has got worse, over half have no involvement with their local community due to a lack of spare time, seven out of 10 people see littering as a problem in their area while a quarter of residents have been affected by crime in the last year.
