Views from the conference floor

Over the last couple of years as part of our online coverage of conference different delegates have written about their conference experiences for us, this year is no different and here are our delegates' views from conference floor.

Friday Evening

Cllr Patrick Nulty (Dublin West)

Last night Labour Party president Michael D. Higgins delivered a speech characterised by a clear analysis of the political challenges facing our country.

Michael D. exposed the moral bankrupcy at the heart of the neo-liberal philosophy that guides Fianna Fail economic policy. Even more importantly Michael D. argued that the Labour Party has a distinctive set of values that set us apart from the conservative politics of Fianna Fail and Fine Gael.

Labour Party National Conference, 16th - 18th April

The 65th Labour Party National Conference will take place in Galway on the 16th, 17th and 18th of April. Taking place in the Bailey Allen Hall in Áras Na MacLéinn, NUI Galway, (you can view a google map of how to get to NUI Galway from Eyre Square at the following link) the conference is expected to bring up to 1,500 people into the city over the weekend which will see almost 150 motions debated with particular emphasis on the economy, banking crisis and jobs.
