Many thanks for visiting my website.
My name is Peter Horgan. I am the Local Area Representative for the Labour Party in Cork City Council, South East Ward, taking in the areas of Blackrock, Mahon, Ballintemple, Ballinlough, Douglas and Rochestown.
I come from a family that has a strong trade union history. I myself am a member of SIPTU and a former member of the NUJ.
I know the problems that exist for people in this area and I know the opportunities that are there for this area and this city.
I was born and raised in the Blackrock area and graduated from UCC with a BSc in Government and NUIG with an MA in Journalism. I worked as a political journalist for a number of years and I am currently a parliamentary adviser.
I was appointed as a Peace Commissioner by the Minister for Justice in 2016 and I am available to sign and witness certain documentation free of charge.
I currently work as a Parliamentary Assistant to Sean Sherlock TD, dealing in the areas of broadband provision, third level education grants and communications.
I want to work on developing better services for residents of the South East Ward and Cork aas a whole and advocate in the areas of public transport, green spaces, economic development and community engagement. I want to ensure that your views are heard outside of election time on issues that directly affect you.
If you have an issue or an area of concern you would like to discuss with me, I am available at the contact details on this page.
