UPDATE (May 2018): The date to register for the supplementary register in order to be able to vote in the forthcoming referendum has now passed.

In a few weeks we will have the opportunity to remove the Eighth Amendment from the constitution.


This is a once in a generation opportunity to remove the amendment and it is important to check the register to ensure you are eligible to vote.

Don't worry if you are not registered as there is still time, as the closing date for inclusion on the Supplementary register is 15 days before polling day.

We've compiled an easy checklist for you to ensure you are registered to vote, as well as a download of form RFA2 which is an application for inclusion on the Supplementary Register.

Applications to join the supplementary register must be received by your Local Authority by Tuesday, May 8th, 2018.

Talk to your family and friends to check if they're registered and point them to this page if they need be included on the Supplementary Register.

  1. Go to Check the Register especially if you are voting for the first time OR if you have recently changed address.

  2. Download and fill in the RFA2 form and bring it to your local Garda station to be witnessed.
