My name is Rob O’Donoghue and I am the Labour Party Local Area Representative for Rush and Lusk in Dublin Fingal.
I have lived in the area for 27 years; I was a student in St Joseph’s Secondary School and subsequently worked there for 7 years, after completing my M.Sc in Political Science.
While working with Crosscare, I established programmes in Rush, Lusk, Skerries and Balbriggan to help decrease the social isolation felt by Fingal’s elderly residents. I play an active role in the local arts scene in Rush; for the past decade, I have run the Cradle Session and Rush Unlocked events.
I currently work as a social researcher in a not-for-profit consultancy working with organisations across the country to improve social service provision for Ireland’s most vulnerable people, so I have a deep understanding of the main issues affecting our community today - housing, unemployment, service provision for youth and older people and social justice, to name a few.
I look forward to representing Rush and Lusk as area representative of the Labour Party and I would be delighted to hear from you about your ideas and suggestions on how we can make Fingal work better.
Working with Brendan Ryan TD and Cllr Ken Farrell.
