From Tinnahinch Graignamanagh Co. Kilkenny. Married with two grown up kids James and Shannon. Treasurer of the local branch of the Graignamanagh Labour Party. First joined the Labour Party in 1997 after I took early retirement from the defence forces where I served for 25 years. Co-opted onto Kilkenny County Council after the general election in 2011. Subsequently losing that seat in the 2014 local elections all be it by a very narrow margin. My main priority is to win back that seat and to serve the people in the municipal district of Kilkenny East. I know that the experience I gained in Kilkenny County Council in those 3 years will stand to me greatly having served on various committees which included, The County Enterprise Board, The board of Kilkenny Leader Partnership, The Joint Policing Commiittee, SPC, Arts Culture Heritage and Sport and Irish Water Safety Association. At a local level I am involved in various other committees and sporting clubs.

As a former member of Kilkenny County Council I have worked on behalf of the constituents in the municipal district of Kilkenny East. I worked on issues such as planning, housing and local community based projects. In my role as a former member of the board of Kilkenny Leader Partnership I was actively involved in facilitating projects in the local areas to get them off the ground and attract the relevant funding necessary. I do not intend on making any promises to anyone except, that I will continue to represent the people of Kilkenny East to the best of my ability and ensure that their views and concerns are fought for and reflected at every opportunity.
